Reflexology

This is the application of pressure, stretch and movement primarily to the feet. This stimulus produces a response on the peripheral nervous system, which in turn has a healing effect on the internal organs at a later date.

Reflexology or reflex zone therapy is a pseudoscientific alternative medicine that assumes that all organs and body parts are connected to places on the feet ('foot reflexology'), hands ('hand reflexology') or ears.

Reflexology divides the sole of the foot into some add the hands and ears into zones that would correspond to parts of the body such as the heart and liver and states that the massage of these zones restores an unobstructed flow of energy throughout the body and /or maintains and that it can be felt on the sole of the foot with which corresponding organ something is wrong. Reflexology believes that energy flow is the basis of our health and that disease would result from energy blockages.

This is contrary to medicine (pathology and physiology), which links disease to identifiable causative agents such as viral and bacterial infections, or to factors of a genetic nature.
